01. What is Sounds for the Soul?
Sounds for the Soul is a UK-based Muslim talent competition celebrating faith, creativity, and community. We provide a platform for aspiring artists, reciters, and creators to showcase their vocal or visual talents through nasheeds, Quran recitation, spoken word, and more, entirely rooted in Islamic values.
02. Who can enter the competition?
The competition is open to Muslims of all ages residing in the UK. Both solo performers and groups (e.g., nasheed groups) are welcome to apply.
03. Is there an entry fee?
No, entering the competition is completely free.
Categories & Content Guidelines
01. What categories can I submit an entry for?
You can submit your audio or video files under the following categories:
- Quran Recitation (Tajweed)
- Adhan
- Nasheed
- Rap/ Spoken Word
- Comedy
- Performance
- Poetry
- Miscellaneous
02. What are the rules regarding musical instruments?
We welcome both acapella (vocals-only) performances and entries that utilise musical instruments. To celebrate the rich diversity of musical expressions across the Muslim community, contestants are permitted to use live instrumentation, digital backing tracks, or synthesized instrumentation to accompany their vocals.
03. Can I submit in languages other than English?
Yes! We welcome entries in English, Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, and any other languages, provided the underlying theme and content align with Islamic ethics.
Submission & Technical Requirements
01. How do I submit my entry?
All submissions must be made directly through our website at soundsforthesoul.org.uk. Simply navigate to the “Competition” page, fill out the registration form, and upload your video or audio file.
02. What file formats do you accept?
- Audio: MP3, WAV, or M4A.
- Video: MP4, MOV, or AVI.
- Maximum file size: 100MB. If your file is larger, we recommend compressing it or uploading it via a private YouTube/Vimeo link as specified on the submission form.
03. How long should my video or audio file be?
Submissions should be between 2 to 5 minutes long.
04. Can I submit multiple entries?
Contestants are limited to one entry per category. However, you can enter multiple categories.
Judging & Prizes
01. How will the entries be judged?
A panel of respected Quran reciters, nasheed artists, and community figures will judge entries.
02. What will the winners receive?
This is more than a competition—it’s an opportunity to discover your potential, inspire others through your voice, and begin a journey of growth and purpose.
Each winner will receive:
- A prestigious Winner’s Trophy or Commemorative Award in recognition of their outstanding achievement.
- The opportunity to perform on a national tour, sharing their talent with communities across the UK.
- Personal mentoring and guidance from experienced mentors to help develop their skills, confidence, and future opportunities.
- The opportunity to be awarded a trip to Umrah (details to be confirmed)—a truly memorable experience that reflects the spiritual heart of this initiative.

03. Will my video be made public?
By submitting your entry, you grant Sounds for the Soul permission to use clips or full videos on our website and social media channels to promote the talent of our community.
